Education and empowerment are core values in the heydrheidi community. How better to work towards these goals with you than to lead a monthly bookclub featuring one of my favorite (or next on my own nightstand) books.

My favorite part of the work I do for Tabu, as one of their medical advisors, is leading Office Hours. If you have joined me there, you have inspired me endlessly. This book club format will feel very familiar to Office Hours alumni. If you have no idea what I am talking about, here's the skinny:

📚Bookclub meetings will be held virtually via zoom once every 4-6 weeks.

📚To get into the zoom group you will need to respond to the invitation prior to the event to get a meeting ID and code.

📚Based on feedback from the previous bookclubs, attendees can choose to be on or off screen. Attendees can request to talk or can communicate via the chat feature. The talk will be moderated by Dr. Heidi and guests.

📚 Participants are welcome whether you have, or have not, read the book of the month! Join even if you just want to hear the book “highlights”!

📚 I will take book suggestions in coming months. If there is a related book you would like to see on the list, drop your "wish list" in the blog comments below.

📚 While there will always be a virtual component to these events so all have the opportunity to join in, please message me if you would like to host a book club event in person. I envision these occurring with in-person participation as our community grows!

📚 All book clubs will be recorded and posted on our YouTube channel for anyone who cannot join during the month's meetup.

If you missed our bookclub meeting on May 27th where I did a special collaboration with Natalie, the founder of Tabu, you can watch in on YouTube here!

Our Summer BookClub Read:

How to Menopause written by Tamsen Fadal

Highly Suggested Companion Watch:

The M Factor produced by Tamsen Fadal

Why you will want to read this book:

📌 It is written from the perspective of a layperson and is guaranteed to be “brain-fog proof”.

📌 Covers perimenopause, menopause and post menopause to remind readers that these are physiological states, that we are not sick, and these are parts of normal aging.

📌 Empowerment for informed conversations with your own medical providers, partners and to educate the next generation of women.

Why you will want to watch this film:

🎥 Interviews with many of the experts that contributed their knowledge for this month’s book.

🎥 Case studies of how menopause-education has entered the workplace to better support women through this life stage and stay at the top of their game at work.

🎥: Produced by the author of our book this month so you get a double-dip into her knowledge.

Put it on your calendar!
